Spring Break in San Diego = PERFECT!

We had so much fun in San Diego... it really was a perfect vacation! The weather was awesome, the airports weren't too crowded and our rental car had a cool GPS thingy to help navigate. (However, Jared lived in San Diego for several years and he would get annoyed when I'd program in his Grandma's address... he didn't need directions from the talking box)!

Sea World: We loved Sea World! Every morning they take a group of the flamingos on a walking parade and we were in the right place at the right time. We got to stand right next to the flamingos, without a fence or anything. The kids convinced us to sit in the "SOAK ZONE" during the dolphin show... we were soaked! The rides were fun... they sure like you to be drenched while walking through Sea World. My personal favorite was the penguin habitat... they were adorable! The kids loved all of it... they whole day was their favorite!

Point Loma Lighthouse: We went to Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego and loved it. We walked about a half mile to the lighthouse. We were able to go inside and walk to the top. The stairs were very steep but it was so fascinating.

Point Loma Seafoods: Mmmmmmm... this is my very favorite place to eat in San Diego (Jared loves it too... obviously, he's the one who introduced me to it). I love it so much, in fact, that we pretty much ate there the entire time. Jackson loves sushi and got that two of the times we went there. Aspen is not a fan of seafood (AT ALL) but she loved munching on the sour dough bread and some fries. One day, I managed to get her to try a tuna sandwich. It's right on the harbor and the view is amazing.

Beach: The water was FREEZING but that didn't stop the kids from diving right in. They loved finding shells and playing int the sand.

Those are just a few of the highlights from our vacation. We had the PERFECT time. Jared's grandma lives in San Diego and it was so much fun to spend some time visiting her. The kids made themselves right at home in her house (she's probably enjoying her peace and quiet now that we're gone). Jared spent one afternoon painting her fence... she's wanted it done for awhile and he was happy to do it. The kids loved playing outside in her yard we enjoyed the beautiful California sunshine!

Truck Buddies

Jared is currently restoring a 1966 Ford F100 and Jackson loves to help.  Jared talks him through it and teaches him as they go.  Jacks always makes sure his hands get covered in grease to show his hard work!  Jackson came up with the name "Truck Buddies" because that's what they are!
Jackson's favorite part of the entire truck:  THE ENGINE!  He knows way more about engines than I ever will.  Who knows... maybe Jackson will "inherit" this truck when he's old enough to drive.

Poor Stinky Chase

Poor Chase has been spending quite a bit of time outside which gives him a bad case of the stinks.  Well, if he is going to continue to be an inside dog, the rule is that he has to smell good.  But, having a bath makes him the most picked-on puppy ever... he HATES it.

I am willing to bet that after looking at the above picture, my mom is freaking out that I actually let my dog in the bathtub!  Might I just add-- it was completely Clorox-ed and de-doggied immediately following Chase's bath!

Yes-- in the above picture, Chase is actually pouting.

For about an hour after the bath, Chase rolled back and forth around the house and was mad at me and Jared!  We wouldn't let him outside until he was completely dry.  This is another photo that I'm sure my mom is completely hating right now... yes I do allow my dog on the carpet!  (However, I do have the Dyson Animal vacuum and it's AMAZING... no dog hair anywhere after vacuuming!)
