V-Day Update

We had a great Valentine's Day and I never posted about it- better late than never I guess. Jared and I were able to help with the twins class party at school and we had a great time! We played Valentine's Bingo (thanks to crayola.com) and we had yummy sugar cookies and cherry 7 up. Aspen and Jackson thought it was awesome to have us there (I'm so NOT looking forward to the day that they're embarrassed to have us there).
Aspen had High School Musical 2 Valentines (with tattoos!) and
Jackson had Lego Men Valentines. Perfect choices!

I was so glad I was able to make it because the night before Valentine's Day we had a MASSIVE, crazy storm and the main road to my house was closed due to a 16-car pile up. It took Jared 6 hours to get home from work... fortunately I have an incredible neighbor who had my kids until Jared got there. Anyway- I never made it home from work that night so I was grateful to be home the next morning and able to go to school with the kids!

Happy Birthday Chase!

Chase is one year old!!!
Technically, I guess he's 7 if we're talking dog years.

Jackson likes to hang out in Chase's kennel once in awhile... it's pretty funny. He'll sit in there and the two of them just hang out together. Chase likes to go in Jackson's room too... but then he "borrows" Jackson's toys and doesn't return them in the best of shape!

I keep trying to convince Jared that Chase is our dog but now he needs a puppy of his own. Jared isn't buying it one bit! I guess I should feel lucky I even have Chase!

Another Tag!

Relationship Tag:
What is his full name?  Jared Bud Dutton-Pegram (when we got married, I actually only picked up the Pegram... I didn't want to be hyphenated)!

How long have we been married?  2 1/2 years

How long did we date?  One year (we were engaged for a month and a half)

Who said I love you first?  Jared

Who is taller?  Jared (he's 6'1" and I'm 5'8")

Who sings better?  Definitely Jared (but I still can't talk him into playing High School Musical Sing It with me and Aspen)

Who is smarter?  Totally depends on the issue.  He's better at math-- I'm better at writing.  I'm pretty sure he has more common sense than me.  :o)

Who pays the bills?  Technically, we both work, and both contribute to the literal paying of bills.  I write out the checks and balance the checkbook!

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?  Jared

Who mows the lawn?  Jared... I did it once over summer and it was too long so the mower kept getting jammed.  I quit half-way through.

Who cooks dinner?  Mostly me.  I wish I had more time to cook... I love it!  Jared cooks the best steak though... mmmmm!

Who drives?  If we are together it's always Jared.  I'm a pretty good back seat driver though!

Who's more stubborn?  I don't think either one of us are too stubborn.  We both give and take equally!  Maybe Jared would have a different answer!

Who kissed who first?  I think we both went in for the kill at the same time!

Who asked who out?  We did a lot of hanging out.  I don't think anyone asked anyone out.

Who proposed?  Jared... up American Fork canyon... 2 dozen roses... ahhh... it was perfect!

Who has more siblings?  Me (half of mine are "step" but they're still siblings)!

Who wears the pants in the family?  Probably me because I'm more assertive with my opinions!

Finally Answering Kerrilyn's Tag

My friend Kerrilyn tagged me (quite awhile ago) and I'm finally getting around to it.

10 years ago... 1998....I was living in an apartment with a couple of great friends and going to school at Utah State. I was also devastated because my missionary had just left on his mission. I didn't "wait" so I clearly got over the devastation.

5 Things on my to do list today: Well today is about over but here goes!
1) Drink a diet coke
2) Take a bubble bath
3) Read my new Family Fun magazine (preferrably while I'm drinking diet coke IN the bathtub!)
4) Fold some laundry.
5) Watch tonight's episode of Psych.

Snacks that I enjoy: Ice cream is my biggest downfall. I LOVE ice cream. Breyer's has a new flavor called Triple Chocolate with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and white chocolate. It is so good! I also consider diet coke a "snack" that I totally enjoy!

What I would do if I were suddenly a billionaire:
Pay off any existing bills.
Invest A LOT and live off the interest. :o)
Save for my kids' college, weddings etc.
Share with my family and pay off their houses.
Buy a beach house in San Diego.
Travel... a lot.

3 of my bad habits:
1) Not exercising enough
2) Watching reality t.v. shows
3) I have a small spending disorder at times.

5 places I have lived:
American Fork, Smithfield, Logan, Springville, Eagle Mountain

5 jobs that I have had:
Nurse's Aide- Terrace Grove
Home Health Aide- Alpine Home Care
Secretary at Utah State
Secretary in IV Therapy at Utah Valley Hospital
Secretary to the Assistant Superintendent of Alpine School District

5 things people don't know about me: (my life is kind of an open book... this one is hard)
1. I have over 60 pairs of shoes (If the shoe fits... buy it in every color!)
2. I have absolutely no desire to go back to school and finish a degree (although I hope my attitude about that might change one day.
3. I once had my tongue pierced. (I am not proud of this. But you might not have known it so I listed it).
4. I own every season of Scrubs on dvd.
5. I sometimes only use half a bottle of lotion or bubble bath and then throw the rest away. I get tired of the same smell over and over.

If you want to be tagged.... go ahead and fill this sucker out!

Thank you Holly Black & Tony DiTerlizzi

Why am I thanking these people?  Because they are the authors of the Spiderwick Chronicles.  I actually haven't read these books but my kids have been reading them in their 2nd grade class.  Aspen loves to read and will read anything and everything.  Jackson, however, does not love to read.  It's torture for him and he doesn't enjoy it at all.  Until now.

He loves the Spiderwick books and can't get enough of them.  Last night after I tucked him into bed I went in to check on him and found him hidden under a blanket READING with a flashlight.  Reading by his choice.  Sneaking to READ "just one more chapter."  I was so excited!  I went right online and ordered the 5-book set from Amazon (which I fully intend on reading myself).

Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers concert was fun! Jackson lost his steam after about 45 minutes but overall he thought it was awesome! Our ears are still ringing from all the teenage girls SCREAMING (I'm pretty sure that if I were 14 I would totally be one of those screaming girls). They played all of our favorite songs. Jackson couldn't wait for his favorite "S.O.S." and of course it was the very last song... he did perk up for that! My personal favorite is "Year 3000" which was their opening song... see video below for a clip! They also did a cover of "Take On Me" by A-Ha and I laughed thinking that most of the "kids" in the audience probably thought it was just a new Jonas Brothers song!

The opening band was an awesome surprise... ROONEY. I've actually been a Rooney fan for awhile and have some of their songs on my ipod. So that was a bonus!

More pictures from the concert to come!

What are you doing tonight?

Jackson and I are going to be rockin' out at the Jonas Brothers concert!  Can't wait!  (P.S.  Note the playlist-- part of our excitement)!
