Top Ten

Today's top ten comes from my iPod. I love my iPod... I have a black Nano and I keep it in a cute little baby blue leather case (I tend to be a bit clumsy and this protects it when I drop it)! My favorite places to listen to my iPod are in my Scion and when I'm running on my treadmill (I run. I do. Well, sometimes I do). So, I noticed as I plugged my iPod into my computer to connect that iTunes shows how many times each song has been played. It was very interesting. So, today's top ten are the top ten most played songs on my iPod.

1. Hey There Delilah by The Plain White T's (It's no surprise to me that this was #1-- especially since Aspen & Jackson walk around the house singing it by heart... we listen to it A LOT... it's a GREAT song)

2. Fidelity by Regina Spektor

3. Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae

4. Under Pressure by Queen & David Bowie (Okay... so what if I thought this song was a remake of a Vanilla Ice Song. All I know is that is a really good song. Remake or not.)

5. Jackson by Johnny Cash (I was a little surprised there weren't more Johnny Cash songs in the Top Ten because we listen to Johnny Cash ALL THE TIME. This one is obviously on the top ten because it's called Jackson. Needless to say, my Jackson loves this song and sings along with it.)

6. Things I'll Never Say by Avril Lavigne (This song always puts me in a happy :o) mood).

7. How to Save a Life by The Fray (This song reminds me of Grey's Anatomy. And I love Grey's Anatomy. Seriously).

8. Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap

9. Mushaboom by Feist

10. One Moment More by Mindy Smith

And the runners up (not quite making it into the top ten most played songs on my iPod) were:
Breathe Me by Sia
My Little Girl by Tim McGraw (this one has a tendency to make me cry)
Upside Down by Jack Johnson
Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles (this song will *ALWAYS* remind me of the movie "Empire Records")
Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

Happy July!

How strange that June is gone. It came and went so quickly and we enjoyed every second. Here are the highlights:
**The best thing of June was our weeklong vacation to Texas
**Aspen and Jackson had swimming lessons for two weeks and passed to the next level
**Jackson's golf lessons
**Aspen and Jackson also started Bear Club and the long-awaited-for "Jaime Days." This month at Bear Club they "traveled" to the Bahamas, South Africa, and Italy.
**We went to Lagoon (or THE Lagoon as Aspen calls it).
**We had a nice Father's Day BBQ in Smithfield with my parents.
**We went to the Eagle Mountain carnival.
**Jared had several softball games and played in a tournament last weekend.
**We had a great time at the Lehi parade and even wheeled my Grandma out in her wheelchair so she could watch the parade. **Jared and Cliff and a wonderful time at the boat races in Burley, Idaho.
**The twins had lots of fun field trips with daycare (they went to the movie, the planetarium, and the aquarium)!

We are looking forward to July and also being not so busy! We can't wait for our annual trip to Bear Lake next week!

Twilight

"Softly he brushed my cheek, then held my face between his marble hands. 'Be very still,' he whispered, as if I wasn't already frozen. Slowly, never moving his eyes from mine, he leaned toward me. Then abruptly, but very gently, he rested his cold cheek against the hollow at the base of my throat."
As Shakespeare knew, love burns high when thwarted by obstacles. In Twilight, an exquisite fantasy by Stephenie Meyer, readers discover a pair of lovers who are supremely star-crossed. Bella adores beautiful Edward, and he returns her love. But Edward is having a hard time controlling the blood lust she arouses in him, because--he's a vampire. At any moment, the intensity of their passion could drive him to kill her, and he agonizes over the danger. But, Bella would rather be dead than part from Edward, so she risks her life to stay near him, and the novel burns with the erotic tension of their dangerous and necessarily chaste relationship.

Okay- so there's the synopsis for this book. I am highly recommending this book for all to read. It is FANTASTIC. Note- I am not a fan of vampire books... in fact I don't think I've ever even read one because they just don't interest me. In my opinion, this book is not a "vampire" book, if you will. It is a love story... it draws you and you want to keep reading (even when you should be sleeping because you have to get up early the next day). Stephenie Meyer is the author... there's also a sequel called New Moon. I will be starting it very soon and I can't wait. Check out Stephenie Meyer's website by clicking here.

Vacation Highlights!

The start of our vacation was a little rough. We got to the airport at 4:30 a.m. and didn't get on the plane until 2:00 p.m. Once we were in the air, Aspen pulled her tray down and fell right asleep!
"

We went to a Rangers baseball game-- so much fun! I got the best, hot, greasy, cheesy fries... served in a cute little helmet! The Rangers even won the game (which I'm told hasn't been happening a whole lot lately). This picture is Sammy Sosa up to bat... he's at 598 home runs and everyone wants to witness the game where he hits his 600th!
How fun to have a swimming pool in the backyard! All the kids wanted to do was swim, swim, swim. I made them wear their arm floaters the whole time... overprotective mommy!
Jackson wishes we had a swimming pool in our backyard... I explained to him that it's not quite the same in Utah!

I have wanted to try a real Sprinkles cupcake for months now and guess what? There was a Sprinkles about 30 minutes from Jared's parents house so his mom offered to drive me there! I'm not going to say anything about it right now... I'm going to devote an entire blog to Sprinkles soon!

Off to Texas

Chances are I will probably blog while I'm in Texas but maybe not! If I don't... I'll be back in a week!

I am so sick of...

1. The price of gas.
2. My dad's hemorrhoid. (Seriously- don't even ask. Just know I am REALLY sick of it.)
3. The dentist office being closed on Friday's.
4. People clipping their fingernails in public (please, PLEASE, just wait until you get home to start clipping).
5. Traffic (and in that same category, STUPID drivers who make the traffic worse).
6. Flies in my house.
7. The neighbors DUMB dog barking in the middle of the night.
8. Britney Spears' hair (or lack thereof).
9. July weather happening in June.
10. My ingrown toenail.
